National Quality Checking Conference
Expect the Best would like to thank everybody that came to the National Quality Checking Conference at Friends House, Euston on Thursday 3rd March 2016.
Whilst quality and quality checking has featured as part of other Social Care conferences in the past, this was the first National Conference to focus entirely on improving care and support services through Quality Assurance.
The Conference focused on three key areas which need to be addressed nationally and locally:
- The need to put service users at the centre of the quality checking process by actually asking for their views
- The need to work together to develop better local quality assurance systems
- The need to invest more in quality assurance to ensure services are delivering the appropriate levels of care and support that people with additional needs deserve and should expect to receive.
In her Key note address Professor Ursula Gallagher from CQC highlighted the wider importance of quality checking in NHS services:
“If NHS services aren’t serving the most vulnerable well, then they probably aren’t serving anyone else well either.”
“It’s been an amazing day and we hope that our delegates build on this positive momentum, and that commissioners and providers learn from the examples of best practise and actively invest in quality assurance.
It is only through investing in quality assurance that we can ensure all people with additional needs consistently receive the high quality care and support that they deserve.”
Everybody had the chance to fill in a feedback form on the day to let us know what they did or didn’t find useful, and this gave us a lot of valuable feedback. If you came along but didn’t get a chance to fill in a form – or you’d like to give us a bit of extra feedback – you can fill in the feedback form online by clicking here.
If you’re interested in purchasing an Expect the Best Quality Check, would like more information, including prices, or if you have any other questions at all, please fill in this simple form.
